stephen colbert’s brilliant moment

While I enjoy both Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, I prefer Jon Stewart because his commentary learns toward Progressive and common-sense values, while Stephen Colbert appears to be almost the polar opposite.

Who am I kidding?  Stephen Colbert is probably very progressive, and his Conservatism merely an act; though Conservatives and Republicans seem to think he’s one of their own, which would probably explain why Stephen Colbert was allowed to speak at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner honoring President Bush.

That is probably not something Republicans will repeat anytime soon.

As I said, I prefer Jon Stewart, though every once in a while Stephen Colbert manages to do something amazing. Here’s the latest example, using–supposedly–a verbatim transept of Newt Gingrich’s response to his recent problems in the press as a spring board.

John Lithgow is nothing short of amazing because he gives Gingrich’s pompous verbiage the drama, the pretense that it deserves, as well as shining a light on the man’s (clearly apparent) narcissism and self-importance.
